Is My Auto Repair Shop Website Mobile Friendly? A Simple Check

Many people looking for a mechanic are on their phone, sometimes on the side of the road. Google also mainly uses the mobile version of a site for indexing and ranking (it calls this mobile-first indexing), so the phone version really counts.

The 5-minute phone test

Open your website on your own phone and check:

  1. Can you read it without zooming? Text should be readable at normal size, with no sideways scrolling.
  2. Can you tap the phone number to call? It should be a tap-to-call link, not just text or a picture.
  3. Are buttons big enough? You should be able to tap "Book", "Call" or "Directions" without hitting something else.
  4. Can you pinch-zoom? Some sites turn zoom off, which makes life hard for anyone with weaker eyesight.
  5. Do your hours and address show up quickly? Without hunting through menus.
  6. Does the booking or contact form work on a phone? Try filling it in.
